HomeMy WebLinkAbout22 093 Consolidated Corporate Human Resources Policies (2020) Amendment (1) By-lawTHE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE BY-LAW NO. 2022 – 093 BEING A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NO. 2020 – 023, THE CONSOLIDATED CORPORATE HUMAN RESOURCES POLICY (2020) BY-LAW WHEREAS Section 8 (1) and 9 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended, provide that the powers of a municipality under this or any other Act shall be interpreted broadly so as to confer broad authority on the municipality to enable the municipality to govern its affairs as it considers appropriate and to enhance the municipality’s ability to respond to municipal issues and has the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising its authority under this or any other Act; AND WHEREAS the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine passed By-law 2020 - 023 to establish Consolidated Corporate Human Resources Policies for the Employees of the Municipality of Kincardine; AND WHEREAS Council adopted the Employee Code of Conduct at the meeting on May 9, 2022 and implemented an Acting Pay Procedure; AND WHEREAS Council deems it advisable to amend By-law No. 2020 – 023 to remove the reference to Code of Ethics and Step-up Pay; NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine ENACTS as follows: 1. That Section 46 – Code of Ethics of Schedule “A” of By-law No. 2020 - 023 be repealed and replaced with the following: 46.0 Code of Ethics With the adoption of the Employee Code of Conduct Policy, Section 46 is repealed. 2. That Section 31 – Step-up Pay of Schedule “A” of By-law No. 2020 - 023 be repealed and replaced with the following: 31.0 Step-up Pay Section 31 is repealed and replaced by the Acting Pay Procedure. 3. That this By-law shall come into full force and effect at the time of its passing. 4. That this By-law may be cited as the “Consolidated Corporate Human Resources Policies (2020) Amendment (1) By-law”. READ a FIRST and SECOND TIME this 9th day of May, 2022. READ a THIRD TIME and FINALLY PASSED this 9th day of May, 2022. Mayor Clerk
