BY-LAW
NO. 2021 - 100
BEING A BY-LAW TO APPOINT MEMBERS TO
MUNICIPAL COMMITTEES AND BOARDS
WHEREAS Section 224 (a) and (c) of the Municipal Act 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25,
as amended, determines that the role of the Council of a municipality is to
represent the public and to consider the well-being and interests of the
municipality and to determine which services the municipality provides;
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the said Municipal Act, 2001 Section 8 (1), provides
that the powers of a municipality under this or any other Act, shall be interpreted
broadly so as to confer broad authority on the municipality to enable the
municipality to govern its affairs as it considers appropriate and to enhance the
municipality’s ability to respond to municipal issues;
AND WHEREAS By-law 2019 – 012 was passed on the 23rd day of January, 2019
to appoint members to various municipal committees and boards;
AND WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine
deems it expedient to amend the above noted by-law;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of
Kincardine ENACTS as follows:
1. Schedule “A” of By-law No. 2019 - 012 be hereby repealed and replaced
with the attached Schedule “A” (David Patterson – Business Improvement
Area Board)
2. That these appointments are open to amendment, as approved from time
to time, by the Council of the Municipality of Kincardine.
3. That the term of the appointments shall be the same as the term of the
Council that appointed them, except where indicated the term continues
until their successors are appointed or is otherwise indicated.
4. This by-law shall come into full force and effect upon its final passage.
5. This by-law may be cited as the “Consolidated Committee Appointment
(2019) Amendment (11) By-law”.
