THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE
BY-LAW
NO. 2021 - 080
A BY-LAW TO APPOINT JENNIFER LAWRIE AS MANAGER OF
LEGISLATIVE SERVICES/CLERK FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARIDNE
WHEREAS pursuant to the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25 as amended,
Section 8 (1) and 9 provide that the powers of a municipality under this or any
other Act shall be interpreted broadly so as to confer broad authority on the
municipality to enable the municipality to govern its affairs as it considers

issues and has the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for
the purpose of exercising its authority under this or any other Act;
AND WHEREAS Section 228 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as
amended provides that a municipality shall appoint a clerk whose duties are
outlined in that Section of the Act;
AND WHEREAS the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of
Kincardine deems it advisable to appoint a Manager of Legislative Services/Clerk
for the Municipality of Kincardine;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of
Kincardine ENACTS as follows:
That Jennifer Lawrie be appointed as the Manager of Legislative

Services/Clerk for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine.
2.That to fulfill those duties outlined in Section 228 of the Municipal Act,
2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25,Jennifer Lawrie be appointed as clerk for The
Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine.
3.That By-law No. 2020 - 103 be repealed.
4.That this by-law shall come into full force and effect upon its final passage.
5.That this by-law may be cited as the "Jennifer Lawrie as Manager of
Legislative Services/Clerk Appointment By-law".
