BY-LAW NO. 2018 - 077 BEING A BY-LAW TO AMEND THE CONSOLIDATED CITIZEN COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT BY-LAW (Heritage Kincardine) WHEREAS Section 224 (a) and (c) of the Municipal Act 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended, determines that the role of the Council of a municipality is to represent the public and to consider the well-being and interest of the municipality and to determine which services the municipality provides; • AND WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine has determined that it requires various advisory committees, boards and commissions and special purpose appointments to assist in this role; AND WHEREAS pursuant to the said Municipal Act, Section 8 (1), provides that the powers of a municipality under this or any other Act, shall be interpreted broadly so as to confer broad authority on the municipality to enable the municipality to govern its affairs as it considers appropriate and to enhance the municipality's ability to respond to municipal issues; AND WHEREAS By-law No. 2015 - 022 was passed on the 18th day of February, 2015 to appoint members to various advisory committees, special committees, boards, commissions and also for special purpose appointments; AND WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine deems it expedient to amend the above noted by-law; NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of • Kincardine ENACTS as follows: 1. Schedule "A" of By-law No. 2015 - 022 be hereby repealed and replaced with the attached Schedule "A" (Cathy Ellis— Heritage Kincardine). 2. That the term of the appointments shall be the same as the term of the Council that appointed them, except where indicated the term continues until their successors are appointed and the term for Ad Hoc appointments shall be at discretion of Council. 3. This by-law shall come into full force and effect upon its final passage. 4. This by-law may be cited as the "Committee Appointment Amendment (Heritage Kincardine) June, 2018 By-law". READ a FIRST and SECOND TIME this 6th day of June, 2018. READ a THIRD TIME and FINALLY PASSED this 6t" day of June, 2018.
