CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BRUCE
BY-LAW NO: 82-1
BEING A BY-LAW to establish remuneration and scales of salaries for municipal
employees, council and local boards for the year 1982.
WHEREAS The Municipal Act R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, Section 238(1), 240(1),
208(45) and amendments thereto authorize a municipal council to pass by-laws
for the establishment of remuneration.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce deems it
expedient to set the rates of remuneration for Council members, Local Boards
and Township employees enacts as follows:
(1) That the remuneration for Council members be set at the following
rates.
(a) Reeve $5,500.00 per annum
(b) Deputy Reeve $3,850.00 per annum
(c) Councillors $3,300.00 per annum
(2) Local Board member rate.
(a) Full day meeting
(b) Half day meeting
$60.00 each
$40.00 each
(3) That the remuneration for the Clerk-Treasurer be set at:
(a) $28,000.00 per annum
(4) That the remuneration for the Road Superintendent be set at:
(a) $23,415.00 per annum
(5) That the remuneration for other employees be set as follows:
(a) Grader Operator and Snowblower Operator $7.00 - $8.65 per hr.
(b) Truck Driver $6.25 - $7.65 per hr.
(c) Labourer, Wingman, Landfill Site Supervisor,
Community Centre custodian
(d) Secretary Receptionist
$5.00 - $6.25 per hr.
$12,000.00 per annum
(6) The rate for mileage paid upon Township business be set at the prevailing
Provincial rate, as set from time to time by resolution.
(7) That the O.H.I.P. premiums be paid at 100% rate by the Township.
(8) That $35.00 be paid to employees toward the purchase of safety footwear
once per annum.
(9) That By-law No. 81-1 be hereby repealed.
