CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BRUCE
BY-LAW 82-9
BEING A BY-LAW to fix the rate of levy, special charges, penalties and interest
according to the last revised assessment roll.
WHEREAS the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, Sect. 158, 159, 357, 380
386 and amendments thereto requires the council of every municipality in each
year shall levy on the whole assessment for property and business according to
the latest revised assessment roll and for the places of collection.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce enacts
as follows:
(1)
To meet the current expenditures of the Corporation of the Township of
Bruce the rates on the whole assessment according to the latest revised
assessment roll shall be:

That current taxes maybe paid at the chartered banks in the towns of
Kincardine, Port Elgin, Villages of Paisley and Tiverton and any other
locations noted on the tax bills at no charge to the municipality up to
and including the due date only of the said taxes, or at the Municipal
Office in Underwood during normal business hours.
That the taxes shall be collected twice in the year and shall be due on
the Fifteenth day of October 1982 and the Sixteenth day of May 1982.
That penalty & interest shall be at the rate as established in By-laws
82-4 and 82-5.

That where the sum of the taxes for which a person is chargeable in any
one year upon any real property assessed in one parcel, the same owner
according to the assessment thereon be less than ($10.00) ten dollars the
sum shall be ten dollars ($10.00).

Should it be necessary to issue additional tax billings as provided for by
the Assessment Act or any other Act or By-law, the same shall be forwarded
to the assessed owner and such amounts will be subject to the procedures
and provisions as set out in this by-law.
That the street light charges for assessed owners in the Hamlet of Glammis
shall be at the rate of twelve dollars ($12.00) per annum.

(8) That the street light charges for assessed owners in the Hamlet of
Underwood shall be at the rate of twenty-six dollars ($26.00) per annum.
(9) That the waterworks service charge in the Hamlet of Underwood shall be
set at the rate of sixty-five dollars ($65.00) per annum, to each
connection to the municipal system.
(10) That Municipal Drain charges, Drain cleanouts, Waterworks Capital costs,
Waterworks service charges, Street light charges, Line Fences awards,
Tile Drainage loans, Hydro arrears be placed on the Collectors Roll
pursuant to the relative by-laws, schedules and statutory authorizations
as required from time to time.
