HomeMy WebLinkAbout17 069 Sharon Chambers as Chief Administrative Officer Appointment By-law THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE t.KBTy 0.4.:TOW" sz C/PALHY OF KM�N� BY-LAW NO. 2017 - 069 A BY-LAW TO APPOINT SHARON CHAMBERS AS CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARIDNE WHEREAS Sections 8 (1) and 9 of the Municipal Act, , 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended, provide that the powers of a municipality under this or any other Act shall be interpreted broadly so as to confer broad authority on the municipality to enable the municipality to govern its affairs as it considers appropriate and to • enhance the municipality's ability to respond to municipal issues and a municipality has the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising its authority under this or any other Act; AND WHEREAS pursuant to the said Municipal Act, Section 229 provides that a municipality may appoint a chief administrative officer who shall be responsible for exercising general control and management of the affairs of the municipality for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the municipality and performing such other duties as are assigned by the municipality; AND WHEREAS The Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine deems it advisable to appoint a Chief Administrative Officer for the Municipality of Kincardine; NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine ENACTS as follows: 1. That Sharon Chambers be appointed as Chief Administrative Officer for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine effective July 4, 2017. • 2. That By-law No. 2011-150 be repealed. 3. That this by-law shall come into full force and effect July 4, 2017. 4. That this by-law may be cited as the "Sharon Chambers as Chief Administrative Officer Appointment By-law".
