CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BRUCE
BY-LAW #83-1
BEING A BY-LAW to amend by-law No. 82-1.
WHEREAS The Municipal Act R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, Section 238(1), 240(1),
208(45) and amendments thereto authorize a municipal council to pass by-laws
for the establishment of remuneration.

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce enacts
as foll ows:
(1) That paragraph (1) remain the same and to read as follows:
(1) That the remuneration of council be set at the following rates.
(a) Reeve $5,500 per annum
(b) Deputy Reeve $3,850 per annum
(c) Councillors $3,300 per annum
(2) That paragraph (2) remain the same and to read as follows:
(Z) Local Board Member rates.
(a) Full day meeting $60.00 each
(b) Half day meeting $40.00 each
(3) That paragraph (3) be deleted and the following substituted so that
paragraph (3) now reads.
(3) That the remuneration for the Clerk Treasurer be set as follows:
(a) $28,700.00 per annum
(b) one (1) extra week vacation, in addition to the normal
entitlement established under the employment pOlicy.
(4) That paragraph (4) be amended by deleting the amount $23,415. and
substituting $24,585. so that the paragraph now reads as follows:
(4) That the remuneration for the Road Superintendent be set at:
(a) $24,585.00 per annum.
(5) That paragraph (5) be amended by deleting the amounts as shown and that
the amounts be increased as authorized so that the paragraph now reads
as follows:
(5) That the remuneration for other employees be set as follows:
(a) Grader Operator and Snow Blower Operator - $7.35~ $9.08 per hr.
(b) Truck Driver - $6.56 - $8.03 per hr.
(c) Labourer, Landfill Site Supervisor,
Wingman, Community Centre Custodian - $5.25 - $6.56 per hr.
(d) Secretary Recepionist - $12,750. per annum.
(6) That paragraph (6) be amended by the deletion of m~age and substituting

kilometers, so that the paragraph now reads.

(6) The rate for kilometers paid upon Township business be set at the
prevailing Provincial rate, as set from time to time by resolution.

(7) That paragraphs (7) and (8) remain the same and shall read as follows:
(7) That the O.H.I.P. premiums be paid at 100% by the Township.
(8) That $35.00 be paid to employees toward the purchase of safety
footwear once per annum.
By-law introduced and read a First time this FIFTH day of JANUARY, 1983.
By-law read a Second time this FIFTH day of JANUARY, 1983.
By-law read a Third time and finally passed, signed, sealed and numbered
83-1 this FIFTH day of JANUARY, 1983.
