BY-LAW 183-23
BEING A BY-LAW to provide for the payment for the destruction of Nuisance Beavers.
AND WHEREAS the County Council of the County of Bruce has agreed to reimburse the
local municipalities to the extent of $25.00 for each beaver so destroyed in the
County on which said local municipality has paid a subsidy.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce enacts as
follows:
1. The Township of Bruce shall authorize the $25.00 payment for each
beaver destroyed in the municipality pursuant to Bruce County By-Law
Number 2693. Any payment made shall be subject to the following
conditions:
(a) that the conditions for payment as set out in Bruce County By-Law
2693 have been met;
(b) that the payment be made only in accordance with the Game and Fish
Act 1980 as amended;
(c) that the township official authorizing the payment for the destruction
of beaver record:
(i) during the open season for beaver, the name and trapping
licence number of the claimant;
(ii) during the closed season for beaver, the name and trapping
licence of the claimant and the name and address of the
property owner claiming distress from beaver and the location
from which the beaver was taken;
(iii) that the records so kept will be made available for inspection
by conservation officers of the Ministry of Natural Resources
and that a copy of these records shall be mailed or delivered
to the Owen Sound District Office of the Ministry of Natural
Resources not later than the 15th day of May for each year
that this By-Law remains in force.
(d) that each claim to the county shall be accompanied by affidavits as
specified in item "do of Bruce County By-Law 2693.
