HomeMy WebLinkAboutBRU 84 008 Mill rate 1984 CORPORATIOR OP TIlE TOWIISBIP OP BRUCE BY-LAW 110. 84-8 BEING A BY-LAW to fix the rate of levy, special charges, penalties and interest according to the last revised assessment roll. WHEREAS the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1980, chapter 202, section 158, 159, 361, 379, 386, 412 and amendments thereto requires that the Council of every municipality in each year shall levy tax on the whole assessment for property and business according to the latest revised assessment roll and for the places of collection. NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce enacts as follows: (1) TO meet the current expenditures of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce. The rates on the whole assessment according to the latest revised assessment roll shall be: County of Bruce School Elementary School Res. & Farm Bus. & Comm. (3) That current taxes shall be collected four times a year during the months of February, May, August and November. (4) That penalty and interest shall be at the rate established by the Municipal Act at l~% per month, the first day of default and on the first day of each calendar month. (5) That where the sum of the taxes for which a person is chargeable in anyone year upon any real property assessed in one parcel, the same owner according to the assessment thereon be less than ten dollars (10.00), then the sum shall be ten dollars ($10.00) (6) Should it be necessary to issue additional tax billings as provided for by the Assessment Act or any other Act or By-law, the same shall be forwarded to the assessed owner and such amounts will be subject to the procedures amd provisions as set out in this by-law. (7) That the streetlight charges for the assessed owners in the Hamlet of Glammis shall be set at the rate of fifteen dollars ($15.00) per annum. (8) That the streetlight charges for assessed owners in the Hamlet of Underwood shall be at the rate of thirty dollars ($30.00) per annum. (9) That Municipal Drain charges, drain cleanouts, waterworks capital costs, waterwork service charges, streetlight charges, line fences awards, tile drainage loan, hydro arrears be placed on the Collector's Roll pursuant to the relative by-laws, schedules and statutory authorizations as required from time to time. - 2 - (10) That the waterworks service charge in the Hamlet of underwood shall be set at the rate of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per annum. By-law introduced and read a First time this SIXTH day of JUNE, 1984. By-law read a Second time this SIXTH day of JUNE, 1984.
