O. 1980, Chapter 302, Section 210, S. S. 28, authorizes Councils of local Municipalities to pass by-laws for the control of fires. NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce deems it expedient to enact as follows: 1. That all of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce is hereby designated as a restricted fire area. 2. No person shall set out fire or set fire to any brush, building, or heap or other combustible material in any field, clearance or place in the designated area where the fire would be likely to spread, between the 1st day of April and the 31st day of October in any year without first having obtained permission in writing from the Fire Chief of the Village of Tiverton and/or the Village of Paisley Fire Departments. 3. That the Fire Chief of the Village of Tiverton and/or the Village of Paisley Fire Departments, be authorized to issue permits for the Township of Bruce in respect of starting fires. 4. Any person who contravenes this by-law is guilty of an offence and a summary conviction is liable to a fine of not more than $300.00, recoverable under the provincial Offences Act. 5. That all by-laws previously passed in respect to lighting of fires in the open are hereby repealed (75-10). By-law introduced and read a First time this THIRD day of APRIL,1985.
