THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BRUCE
BY-LAW NO. 88 - 25
BEING A BY-LAW to appoint a Deputy Clerk-Treasurer.

WHEREAS the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, Sections
149, 77, and 79, Subsections 1, 2, and 2(t) authorizes a Council
to appoint a Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, and enter into agreements
respecting conditions of employment.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of
Bruce enacts as follows:
(1) That Mr. Bob Waram be and is hereby appointed Deputy Clerk-
Treasurer for the Corporation of the Township of Bruce on a
probationary basis until December 31, 1988.
(2) That duties to commence September 12, 1988 with remuneration
set at $36,000.00 for the period until December 31, 1988.
(3) That Mr. Bob War am assume the dut ies as Clerk-Treasurer
effective January 1, 1989 with remuneration set at
$40,000.00 for the year 1989, after a satisfactory
probationary period.
(4) That vacations will be awarded as follows:
3 weeks vacation after 1 year of service.
4 weeks vacation after 5 years of service.
5 weeks vacation after 10 years of service.
6 weeks vacation after 20 years of service.
(5) That the Corporation benefits now available to present
employees be available on the assumption of the appointed
office.
(6) That the corporation of the Township of Bruce will actively
seek enrolment in the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement
System to enable the Deputy Clerk-Treasurer to continue his
contributions, in the event that this does not occur, the
equivalent contribution will be paid to appointee.
(7) That time off will be granted for meetings that occur
outside normal office hours.
(8) That the appointee will be allowed to attend training
courses and the Corporation shall allow training allowances
as an ongoing entity, i.e. Municipal Law Course (Conestoga
College), Municipal Planning (Georgian College), and others
as the case may be.

(9) That the appointee be allowed to attend the annual A.M.C.T.
Conference and the Annual Municipal Finance Conference,
along with Zone and County meetings which will be
underwritten as for cost by the Corporation.
(10) That the appointee is under no obligation to reside in the
Municipality.
(11) That the previous Clerk may be consulted for opinions in
regard to problems associated with the good order of
administration.
(12) That this by-law be effective on the dates specified above.

1988.
By-law read a Second time this THIRD day of AUGUST 1988.
By-law read a Third time and finally passed, signed, sealed, and
numbered 88-25 this THIRD day of AUGUST, 1988.
