THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BRUCE
BY-LAW NO. 89-18
BEING A BY-LAW authorizing the maintenance and ownership of
certain cemeteries within the Township of Bruce.
WHEREAS pursuant to the Cemeteries Act, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 59,
Section 62, where the owner of a cemetery can not be found, or is
unknown, the council of the local municipality in which the
cemetery is situate shall maintain it and is deemed to be the
owner of the cemetery.
AND WHEREAS it is desirous to obtain control and ownership over
certain abandon cemeteries within the Township of Bruce.
NOW THEREFORE be it enacted by the council of the Township of
Bruce as follows:
1. EVANGELICAL UNITED BRETHERN CEMETERY
That ownership of the cemetery known as Evangelical United
Brethern Cemetery, located at Part Lot II, Concession 4, in
the Township of Bruce, County of Bruce and more particularly
described in the schedule attached to this by-law be assumed
by the Council of the Township of Bruce.
2. QUEEN HILL CEMETERY
That ownership of the cemetery known as the
Cemetery located at Part of Lot 18, Concession
Township of Bruce, in the County of Bruce
particularly described in the schedule attached

PORT BRUCE CEMETERY
That ownership of the cemetery known as the Port Bruce
Cemetery and also known as the Baie Du Dore Cemetery located
at Part of Lot D, Concession 7 in the Township of Bruce,
County of Bruce and more particularly described in the
schedule attached to this by-law be assumed by the Council
of the Township of Bruce.

WRIGHTSON CEMETERY
That ownership of the cemetery known as the Wrightson
Cemetery and also known as the Shiloh Church or Willow Creek
Cemetery and located at Part of Lot 23, Concession 5, in the
Township of Bruce, County of Bruce and more particularly
described in the schedule attached to this by-law be assumed
by the Council of the Township of Bruce.

That the Reeve and Clerk are authorized to execute any
further deeds or other documents as may be required to
assume ownership of the said cemeteries and are further
authorized to affix the corporate seal thereto as may be
required.

that part of Lot Number twenty-three in the Fifth concession of
the aforesaid Township of Bruce which is described as follows:
COMMENCING at the south west corner of the said Lot number
twenty-three;

Township of Bruce containing by admeasurement one half acre and
maybe known and described as follows:
COMMENCING at a post planted at the northerly angle of said Lot;
THENCE South fifty nine degrees and thirty minutes East 165 feet
(two chains and fifty links) to a post;
THENCE South thirty degrees and thirty minutes West 132 feet (two
chains) to a post;
THENCE North fifty nine degrees and thirty minutes 165 feet (two
chains and fifty links) to a post;
THENCE North thirty degrees and thirty minutes East 132 feet (two
chains) to the place of beginning.

the said Township of Bruce described as follows: that is to say,
COMMENCING where a post has been planted on the northerly limit
of Lot number eighteen in the fourteenth concession of the
Township of Bruce at the distance of 899.745 feet (thirteen
chains sixty three and one quarter links) easterly along said
northerly limit of said Lot from the northwest angle of said Lot;
THENCE southerly parallel to the westerly limit of said Lot
208.7052 feet (three chains sixteen links and eleven fiftieths of
a link) more or less to a post;
THENCE easterly parallel to the
