HomeMy WebLinkAboutBRU 97 014 closure of sideroad THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BRUCE BY-LAN NO. 97-14 BEING A BY-LAN to temporarily close a portion of Sideroad· J/1 between Concessions 1 and 2 in the Township of Bruce. WHEREAS PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL ACT R.S.O. 1990, Chapter M.45, section 207 (43), the Council of a Municipality may pass a by-law temporarily closing portions of the highways under its jurisdiction, for the purpose of constructing works over such highways: AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Bruce has approved the rehabilitation and widening of the bridge at Sideroad J/l between Concessions 1 and 2 in the Township of Bruce. AND WHEREAS in order to carry out this project, it is necessary to temporarily close this portion of J/1 Sideroad. NON 'l'HEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWIISHIP OF BRUCE enacts as follows: 1. That Side road J/1, lying between the 1st and 2nd Concession of the Township of Bruce is temporarily closed to traffic save and except local traffic requiring access. 2. That all necessary barricades, signs and warning devices be placed at each end of the closed portion. 3. That any person who without lawful authority uses a highway or portion thereof so closed to traffic while it is protected by this by-law, or who removes or defaces any barricades, signs or warning devices placed thereon, is guilty of an offence and is also liable to the municipality for any damage or injury occasioned by such wrongful use, removal or defacement. 4. That this by-law shall come into force and effect upon the erection of appropriate signs and shall remain in effect until all work has been completed and the signs and barricades have been removed under the authority of the Township of Bruce.
