BY-LAN NO. 98-8
BEING A BY-LAW to appoint a Lottery Licencing Officer and to
establish fees for issuing Lottery Licences.
WHEREAS by Order in Council, Numbered 2688/93. dated the First day
of November, 1993 and amendments thereto, municipalities were
authorized to licence, and to establish licence fees to cover costs
of operation, provided such licence fees do not exceed certain
prescribed limits.
AND WHEREAS Section 45 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter
M.45, as amended, provides that the Councils of all municipalities
may pass by-laws for appointing such officers and servants as may
be necessary for the purpose of the Corporation.
AND WHEREAS it is deemed desirable to issue Lottery Licences and
appoint a Licencing Officer for this task.
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the
Township of Bruce ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Clerk-Treasurer of the Township of Bruce is hereby
appointed Lottery Licencing Officer for the Township of Bruce
and shall perform all the duties and obligations, which by
statute, Regulations or By-law are, or may be. conferred upon
him by the Corporation.

That the Deputy Clerk-Treasurer of the Township of Bruce is
hereby delegated all of the powers and responsibilities
associated with the position of Lottery Licencing Officer when
the Clerk-Treasurer is unable to perform the duties of this
position by way of absence.

3. That the fees for issuing Lottery Licences shall be set as
foil ows:
a) Bingo Events - 1\ of prize value
b) Raffle Lotteries - 3\ of prize value
c) Bazaars - 3\ of prize value
d) Break Open Ticket Lotteries - $10.00/box
The maximum Annual Bingo Licence for regular Bingos will be
$300.00.
The minimum fee for any licence to be $10.00.
That former Bruce Township By-laws Nos. 75-14 and 95-13 be
repealed.
By-law introduced and read a First time this SIXTH day of JANUARY,
1998.
By-law read a Second time this SIXTH day of JANUARY, 1998.
By-law read a Third time and finally passed, signed, sealed, and
numbered 98-8 this SIXTH day of JANUARY, 1998.
