WHEREAS the Municipal Act municipalities to pass by-laws authorizes Councils of for the control of fires. local NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce deems it expedient to enact as follows: 1. That all of the Corporation of the Township of Bruce is hereby designated as a restricted fire area. 2. No person shall set out fire or set fire to any brush, building or heap or other combustible material in any field, clearance or place in the designated area, where the fire- would be likely to spread, without first having obtained permission in writing from the Fire Chief of the Tiverton and District Fire Department. 3. That the Fire Chief of the Tiverton and District Fire Department, be authori zed to issue permits for the Township of Bruce in respect of starting fires. 4. Any person who contravenes this by-law is guilty of an offence and a summary conviction is liable to a fine of not more than $5,000.00 recoverable under the Provincial Offences Act. 5. That By-law No. 85-7 be repealed. By-law introduced and read a First time SEVENTH day of JULY, 1998. By-law read a Second time this SEVENTH day of JULY, 1998.
