HomeMy WebLinkAboutTIV 91 018 mill rates 1991 CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF TIVERTON BY LAW # 19 q I - ,r Being a By-law to regulate the use of grease interceptors by restaurants, hotels, motels and all buildings where banquet facilities are made available or where foods are cooked for sale that are or shall be connected to the sewer system in the Village of Tiverton4 WHEREAS the Municipal Acts, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, paragraph 210(77) provides the authority whereby a Municipal Council may pass bylaws for making regulations for sewage or drainage that may be deemed necessary for sanitary purposes: . AND WHEREAS the Council of the Village of Tiverton (the "Municipality") deems it necessary to require the use of grease interceptors; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE MUNICIPALITY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Every owner or operator of a restaurant, hotel, motel with dining room or a building where food is prepared for take-out sales, and every building where banquet facilities are provided and every building where foods are cooked for sale that is or will be connected to the Municipality's sewer system shall have a grease interceptor designed in accordance with the Ontario Plumbing Code Regulation 815/84, as amended located so as to intercept grease discharged into the plumbing. 2. The cover of the grease interceptor and the grease interceptor shall be located and constructed so as to allow the cover to be easily removed for inspection and grease to be easily removed at regular intervals. 3. The owner and the operator of any place required to have a grease intercept~ shall ensure the accumulated grease is removed at regular intervals so as to ensure no grease accumulations are discharged into the sewer system of the Municipality. 4. Any person violating any of the prov1s10ns of this by-law shall, for each and every offence be liable upon conviction thereof to a penalty of not more than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) for each offence, exclusive of costs, which penalty shall be recoverable under the Provincial Offences Act. 5. This by-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final passing thereof.
