MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF KINCARDINE
BY-LAW 90-01
A By-Law appointing Municipal Officials and setting their respective
salaries for 1990 as authorized by the Municipal Act R.S,O, 1980
C 302, Sec 208 (45)
It is hereby enacted by the Council of the Township of Kincardine,
that the persons hereinafter mentioned be and are appointed and
their respective salaries for 1990 be:

COUNCIL MEMBERS EXPENSE ALLOWANCE
.
ALL OFFICIALS per km. .26¢
Elected Municipal Officials shall receive remuneration monthly as
hereby authorized, plus Special Council Meetings, Committee
Meetings, Convention and Mileage Expense of .26¢/km. One third
(1/3) of the total remuneration paid for per diem and meeting is
to be designated as expense allowance. Council members shall
receive mileage for 24 Regular Meetings at .26¢/km. Expense
, accounts for previous month shall be submitted at the first regular
meeting of each month, and shall be paid at the second regular
meeting of each month.

VACATION PAY (ALL EMPLOYEES)

(In case of severance and employee has taken vacation prior to
June 30, remaining vacation pay will be based on 4% of earnings).
Holidays to be arranged with Superintendent prior to Vacation Time.
PAID STATUTORY HOLIDAYS:

GROUP INSURANCE
The municipality pays fifty (50%) per cent of the premium for
coverage of office Staff and Road Department Employees.
SICK DAYS FOR FULL TIME EMPLOYEES (Upon Completion of Probation)
One and one-half days per month for 5 years .

In case of severance, employee would get ~ of earned days pay on
severance to a maximum of 45 days.
All based on an average 40 hour week. If employee is sick he/she
gets his/her full day's pay (8 hours) up to amount of his/her built
up credit.
. Medical Certificate required after (2) two days.
I Maximum stays at 90 days even if employee is still with us.
Sick days based on current wages.

, In case of death of an employee, earned sick days would be payable
to the estate.
MEAL ALLOWANCE

Maximum of $35.00 per day
All Municipal representatives.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE
.
The Municipality agrees that in the event of a bereavement in an
employee's immediate family, (Meaning spouse, son, daughter, parents, I
grandparents, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother- I
in-law or sister-in-law) if the employee attends the funeral, to '
allow the employee such time off as necessary up to a maximum of
three (3) days and to pay for the days which the employee would
have otherwise worked at his regular rate of pay. If the employee
is unable to attend the funeral, he shall be allowed one (I) day
off without loss of pay.

PROBATION period for new employees to be three to six months
at the discretion of Council.
Wages and Mileage set by this By-Law for staff and appointed
officials are retroactive to January 1, 1990.
Elected Officials wages and mileage retroactive to December 1, 1989
BY-LAWS 89-01 and 88-18 are hereby repealed.
READ A First, Second, and Third Time and finally passed this
15th day of January, 1990.
