BEING A BY-LAW TO DESIGNATE THE HOME OF Shirley Young and Malcolm Young at 804 Princes Street of Architectural Value. \~REAS the Ontario Heritage Act, 1974, authorizes the Council of a municipality to enact By-laws to designate real property including all the buildings and structures thereon, to be in historic or architectural value or interest; and ':ffiEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Kincardine has caused to be served upon the owner of the lands and premises known as the home of Shirley Young and Malcolm Young at 804 Princes Street and upon the Ontario Heritage Foundation notice of intention to so designate the aforesaid real property and has caused such notice of intention to be published in a newspaper having a general circulation in the municipality once for each of three consecutive weeks; and IVHEREAS the reasons for designation are set out in Schedule "B" hereto, and WHEREAS no notice of objection to the said proposed designation has been served upon the clerk of the Municipality; THEREFORE, The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Kincardine enacts as follows: 1. There is designated as being of architectural value or interest the real property more particularly described in Schedule "A" hereto, knO\.ffi as the home of Shirley Young and Malcolm Young at 804 Princes Street. 2. The Town Solicitor is hereby authorized to cause a copy of this By-law to be registered against the property described in Schedule "A" hereto in the proper land registry office. 3. The To'~ Clerk is hereby authorized to cause a copy of this By-law to be served upon the owner of the aforesaid property and upon the Ontario Heritage Foundation and to cause notice of this By-law to be published in a newspaper having general circulation in the Tovm of Kincardine. " By-Law NO. 4453 SCHEDULE "A" All and Singular that certain parcel of land and premises situate and lying and being in the TOvffi of Kincardine, in the County of Bruce, and Province of Ontario, and being composed of Lot Number Four (4) subdivision of Lots Number One (1) and Two (2) on the I'lest side of Princes Street in the said Town of Kincardine. By-Law No. 4453 SCHEDULE "B" Reasons for Designation 804 Princes Street Shirley Young and Malcolm Young The dwelling probably dates from about 1870.. One particular reason for designating this building is its link with the founders of the Andrew Malcolm Furniture Company being the original residence of the late Andrew Malcolm~ The dwelling is of Ontario Vernacular Architecture ... The vlindo\'J" in the peak over the front door is the focal point of the structure. The original verandah has been removed and a more delicate porch has been substituted along ,dth shutters and a large barge board added.
