L.??Q SCHEDULE "B" This Block was built in lMl and is now in the ownership of three different businesses, however, the reasons for designation apply to the entire block. . The subject property is a late 19th century commercial building located on the west side of Queen Street. . It is part of a predominantly two-storey commercial street facade and hence is an integral part of the overall street composition. This composition is characterized by a similar building height, brick as the predominant building material, a consistent pattern of vertically orientated second floor windows and an abundance of decorative cornice work. It is the second storey facade that is of particular merit and worthy of conservation and restoration. With regard to restoration of the subject property, as it is primarily the second floor exterior facade that is being conserved it is encouraged that the second floor windows of Gilbert's Jewellery and Ellenton's Home Hardware be replaced with windows of the original pattern and proportion as above the Walsh property. . . --~ -
