Home My WebLink About11 026 consolidated citizen committee appointment 2011 by-law THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE 0 Awe* ' KBTy ` BY -LAW NO. 2011 - 026 BEING A BY -LAW TO APPOINT CITIZENS TO VARIOUS ADVISORY COMMITTEES, SPECIAL COMMITTEES, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND SPECIAL PURPOSE APPOINTMENTS WHEREAS Section 224 (a) and (c) of the Municipal Act 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended, determines that the role of the Council of a municipality is to • represent the public and to consider the well -being and interest of the municipality and to determine which services the municipality provides; AND WHEREAS pursuant to the said Municipal Act, 2001 Section 8 (1), provides that the powers of a municipality under this or any other Act, shall be interpreted broadly so as to confer broad authority on the municipality to enable the municipality to govern its affairs as it considers appropriate and to enhance the municipality's ability to respond to municipal issues; AND WHEREAS pursuant to the said Municipal Act, 2001 Section 11 (2) provides that a lower -tier municipality may pass by -laws respecting the economic, social and well -being of persons; AND WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine has determined that it requires various advisory committees, special committees, boards and commissions and special purpose appointments to assist in this role; AND WHEREAS it is necessary and expedient that a by -law be adopted to S appoint citizens to these committees, boards and commissions and also for special purposes; NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine ENACTS as follows: 1. That the citizens denoted on the attached Schedule "A ", attached hereto and forming part of the by -law, be hereby appointed to the various advisory committees, boards and commissions and for special purposes as required by the Municipality of Kincardine. 2. That these appointments are open to amendment, as approved from time to time, by the Council of the Municipality of Kincardine. 3. This by -law shall come into full force and effect upon its final passage. 5. This by -law may be cited as the "Consolidated Citizen Committee Appointment (2011) By -law ".
