THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF KINCARDINE BY-LAW NO. 4748 BEING A BY-LAW TO DESIGNATE THE PROPERTY OF AND WALTER ARNOLD AT 335 DURHAM MARKET NORTH OF HISTORIC OR ARCHITECTURAL VALUE. GARY ZOCK AS BEING WHEREAS the Ontario Heritage Act, 1980, authorizes the council of a municipality to enact by-laws to designate real property including all the buildings and structures thereon, to be of historic or architectural value and interest; and WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Kincardine has caused to be served on the owner of the lands and premises known as the property of Gary Zock and Walter Arnold at 335 Durham Market North and upon the Ontario Heritage Foundation notices of intention to so designate the aforesaid real property and has caused such notice of intention to be published in a newspaper having general circulation in the municipality once for each of three weeks; and WHEREAS the reasons for designation are set out in Schedule "B" hereto; and THEREFORE, the Council of the corporation of the Town of Kincardine ENACTS as follows: 1. There is designated as interest the real property Schedule "A" hereto, known Walter Arnold at 335 Durham being of architectural value and more particularly described in as the property of Gary Zock and Market North. 2. SCHEDULE "A" The whole of Lot 4, Registered Plan 169, Town of Kincardine, County of Bruce, and Part of Lot 2, Registered Plan 169, Town of Kincardine, county of Bruce, being more particularly described as the following: COMMENCING to measure at the Southwest corner of said Lot Number Two; THENCE East along the Southern limit thereof sixty feet to a point; THENCE North in a line parallel with the eastern and western limits of said Lot Number Two, Sixty feet to the Northern limit of said Lot Number Two; THENCE West along the Northern limits of said Lot number Two to the Western limit thereof; THENCE South along said Western limit of said Lot Two, Sixty feet to the place of beginning. As described in Instrument No. 54466. SCHEDULE "B" This home is one of the first houses built in Kincardine in 1868. The construction is barn framed with 10" x 12" hand cut beams providing the main wall and floor support. Mortise and tenon joints are prevalent throughout the house. The exterior walls have double pine board sheeting with a wood siding covering. The interior has a single pine sheeting covered with lath and plaster. The house is of Vernacular clapboard construction and design and due to its age and fine condition, the L.A.C.A.C. deems it worthy of designation.
