BY-LAW NO. 1993-62
A BY-LAW TO REQUEST THE SOLICITOR GENERAL OF ONTARIO TO
DISBAND THE KINCARDINE POLICE SERVICE IN ORDER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT FOR POLICING WITH THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL
POLICE.
WHEREAS the Council for The Corporation of the Town of
Kincardine desires to enter into a contract with the Ontario
Provincial Police for police services for the Town of
Kincardine, under Section 10 of the Police Services Act, RSO
1990, C.P.lS;
AND WHEREAS the Ontario Civilian Commission on Police Services,
having held a hearing pursuant to the Solicitor General's
"Protocol on O.P.P. Costing Requests" (dated January, 1992),
has determined that the O.P.P. proposal is adequate and that
all members of the Kincardine Police Service have been or will
be dealt with fairly and equitably;
NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of the Town of
Kincardine ENACTS as follows:
1. THAT this Council hereby requests the Solicitor General
of Ontario to disband the Kincardine Police Service and
requests authority to enter into a contract for policing
of the municipality by the Ontario Provincial Police.
2. This by-law shall come into full force and effect upon
its final passage.
3. This by-law may be cited as the "Request to Disband the
Municipal Police Force By-law".
READ a FIRST and SECOND time this 28th day of October, 1993.
