By-Law No. 837
For granting Is bonus by way of par-
tial exemption of taxes to the J.
D. Watson Furniture Company,
Limited;
'WHEREAS the said Company, has i
established a recd furniture tactory in 1
said Town of Kincardine and propwos
to employ at least fifteen hands and i
pity out at least ten thousand dollars j
annually In wages:
AND WHEREAS said Company
has requested the Council of said j
Town of Kincardine to aid said Com
pony in their enterprise by grantini j
to It a partial exemption from taxa-
tion its hereinafter mentioned:
.AND WIiEREAS It Is expedient In
the interests of the Municipulity to
grant the bonus hereinafter mention-
ed for the promotion of manufactur-
ing in said municipality:
THEREFORE the Municipal Coun-
cil of the Corporation of the 'Down of
Kincardine enacts as follows:
1. For the purpose mentioned In the
preamble the following roperty, thut i
is to any, the south hall of Lot num-
ber Six on the East aide of Queen
Street in the said town of Kincardine
and the buildings thereon and the
plant ynd machinery and stock used in
carrying on said business, unit said
business shall, for a period of ten
years from the 31st day of Decembe••,
A.D. 1922, be exempt from the pay-
ment of all Municipal Taxes to excess
of the fixed sum of $160.00, providol
that if In any your or years of said
term the sums payable in respect of
said property for school taxes or lo-
cal improvement fates, or both, shall
exceed said_sbmzof $1.50.00 then the
full amount payable for school taxes
mid local improvement rates shall be
paid in full:
2. Tint from and out of said sum
of $150.00 shall be paid in full all
school taxes and local improvement
rates with which said property is
chargeable, if sufficient to pay same,
and It not sufficient therefor the hot-
n required to pay said school taxes
and local Improvement rates ahall be
levied upon said property:
3. That said bonus shall be given up-
on and subject to the terms and con-
ditions of said - proposal and agree-
ment of said Company:
4 That should sadd property or any
part of it cease to be used for the

TAKE NOTICE that the fore -going
Is a true copy of a pro p��ed by-law
of the corporation of the Town of Kin-
cardine to be submitted to the votes
of the electors at the same time and
at the same pieces as the annual el-

pointed to -hold the said election shall
take the vote.
AND THAT the 26th day of De.
cember, 1922, at the Council Chamb.
ere, Town Hall, at eleven o'clock in
the forenoon has been fixed for the
appointment of persons to attend as
the Bumming po l aces, votes by the ae k
AND THAT if the assent of the
electors is obtained to the said propos-
ed by -law it will be taken into con-
sideration by the Municipal Council
of the said Corporation at a meeting
thereof to be held alter expiration of
one month from date of the first pub-
lication of this notice, and that such
first publication was made on the 7th ,
day of December, 1922,
TAKE NOTICE further that a ten-
ant who desires to vote upm said pro-
posed by -law must deliver to the
Clerk net later than the tenth day
before the date appointed for taking
the vote a declaration under the Can-
ada Evidence Act that he Is a tenant :
whose lease extends for the time for
which the debt or liability is to be
created, or in which the money to be
raised by the proposed by-law Is pay -

and that he has by the lease covensnt- ;

spect of the property of which he is
