TIlE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF KINCARDINE-BRUCE-TIVERTON BY-LAW NO. 1999 - 60 A BY-LAW TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE STREETS IN TIVERTON TO FACILITY VARIOUS EVENTS AT THE TIVERTON REUNION WHEREAS in accordance with subsection 207(44) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter MAS, as amended, authorizes the councils of all municipalities to close on a temporary basis any highway under the jurisdiction of the municipality for such social, recreational, community, athletic or cinematographic purpose as may be specified in a by-law: NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of the Township of Kincardine- Bruce- Tiverton ENACTS as follows: 1. That part of McKay Street in the former Village of Tiverton from Queen Street to Ross Street, shall be closed to vehicular traffic, from time to time and at the discretion of the Tiverton Reunion Committee, during the period July 1, 1999 to July 4, 1999. 2. That the 1999 Tiverton Reunion Committee shall cause to be erected at each end of the highway or portion thereof, and; where an alternative route deviates therefore, a barricade upon which an adequate warning device shall be exposed and in good working order, and; at such points there shall be erected detour signs indicating the alternative route and containing a notice that the highway is closed to traffic. 3. Every person who uses a highway or portion of a highway so closed to traffic does so at his or her own risk and The Corporation of the Township of Kincardine-Brucew Tiverton is not liable for any damage sustained by a person using the highway or portion thereof so closed to traffic. 4. Every person who without lawful authority uses a highway or portion thereof so closed to traffic while it is protected in accordance with this paragraph, or who removes or defaces any barricade, device, detour sign or notice placed thereon by lawful authority, is guilty of an offence and is subject to the penalties as set forth in the Provincial Offences Act and is also liable to the The Corporation of the Township of Kincardine-Bruce-Tiverton for any damage or injury occasioned by such wrongful use, removal or defacement. 2/ .
