HomeMy WebLinkAbout06 120 Purchase Playground Equipment PARCS Ltd. · · · · THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE BY-LAW NO. 2006 - 120 BEING A BY-lAW TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FOR MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE PARKS (PARCS Ltd.) WHEREAS Section 11 (2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, 5.0. 2001, c. 25, as amended, provides that lower-tier municipalities may pass by-laws within the sphere of jurisdiction of culture, parks, recreation and heritage; AND WHEREAS pursuant to the said Municipal Act, Sections 8 and 9 (1) provide municipalities with the powers of a natural person to enable them to govern their affairs as they consider appropriate and to enhance their ability to respond to municipal issues; AND WHEREAS the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine deems it necessary to purchase playground equipment for various parks within the municipality; AND WHEREAS the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine deems it expedient to accept the tender of PARCs Ltd. in the amount of $76,951.31, excluding taxes, for the supply and installation of playground equipment; AND WHEREAS during the 2006 capital budget deliberations, $80,000.00 was budgeted for the purchase of new playground equipment; NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine ENACTS as follows: 1. That the tender of PARCs Ltd., for the supply and installation of playground equipment in the amount of $76,951.31, excluding taxes, be hereby accepted. 2. That the Mayor and CAD be hereby authorized to sign, on behalf of the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine any contracts and other documents required to authorize such purchases. . . ./2 · · · · Page 2 Playground Equipment (2006) Tender Acceptance By-law By-law No. 2006 - 120 3. That the Recreational Services Committee is hereby authorized to identify the location and type of equipment required by various parks throughout the municipality. 4. This by-law shall come into full force and effect upon its final passage. 5. This by-law may be cited as the "Playground Equipment (2006) Tender Acceptance By-law".
