THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE
BY-LAW
NO. 2000 - 09
A BYLAW TO AUTHORIZE REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS
FOR EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS section 96(1) and 207(45) of the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1990 c. M.45
authorizes Council to fix the remuneration of its officers
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine
wishes to fix the remuneration for its employees for a three year period.
NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of
Kincardine ENACTS as follows:
1. That the Council of the Municipality of Kincardine agrees to accept the
terms negotiated with the municipality's Employee Negotiation Committee
being:
a) That the municipality agrees to reinstate the benefit package as it
existed in 1998 with the Town of Kincardine employees with one
exception. The exception to be a request that the $2.00 deductible
for prescriptions stays in effect to encourage efficient use of
prescriptions and the cost savings would reflect in future year
charges
b) That the municipality agrees to increase the rates on the 1999 grid
chart as follows:
2.5% for the year 2000
And an additional 2% for the year 2001
And an additional 2% for the year 2002
c) That the employees' maximum number of sick days be increased to
180 days.
d) That the employer pays 100% of the benefit packages with Green
Shield and Cooperators except 25% of vision and dental, which will
be paid by the employees.
e) That wage grid changes are to be effective January 1, 2000 and the
benefit changes are to come into effect April 1, 2000 when the
benefit packages are renewed.
2. This by-law shall come into full force and effect on it final passing.
3. This by-law may be cited as "The Employee Remuneration and Benefit
By-Law for 2000,2001 and 2002".
READ a FIRST, SECOND and THIRD time and FINALLY DEEMED TO BE
PASSED this January 26th, 2000.
