Offic e e e e THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE BY-LAW NO. 2006 - 026 BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE AN AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINCARDINE AND THE MINISTER OF COMMUNITY SAFETY AND CORRECTIONAL SERVICES TO ACCOMMODATE THE ADDITION OF THREE AUXILIARY OFFICERS WHEREAS with the adoption of By-law No. 2005 - 018, The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine entered into an agreement with the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services (the "Minister") for the provision of Police Services, pursuant to Sections 4, 5 and 10 of the Police Services Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 15, as amended; AND WHEREAS it has been determined by The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine that three additional auxiliary officers are required to complement the three auxiliary officers presently utilized by the South Bruce detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police; AND WHEREAS the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25 Sections 8 and 9 (1) provides municipalities with the powers of a natural person to enable them to govern their affairs as they consider appropriate under this or any other Act; AND WHEREAS the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine deems it advisable to amend its current agreement with the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services in order to accommodate three additional auxiliary officers; NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine ENACTS as follows: 1. That an amendment to the agreement between the Municipality of Kincardine and the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, for the provision of police services, be hereby authorized to allow the complement of auxiliary officers to be increased to six officers. 2. That an addendum be added to the current agreement between the Municipality of Kincardine and the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services to 'reflect the establishment and funding of three Auxiliary Police Officers positions. 3. That the Mayor and CAO be authorized to sign, on behalf of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine, any and all documents required to amend the agreement with the Ministry of Community and Correctional Services to reflect an increase in the number of auxiliary officer positions to three and that the said documents be attached hereto as Schedule "A". . ./2 e e e e Page 2 Auxiliary Officers' Amendment to OPP Police Services Agreement By-law By-law No. 2006 - 026 4. This By-law shall come into full force and effect upon receipt of a duly signed copy of an addendum to the agreement with the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services for the Province of Ontario. 5. This By-law may be cited as the "Auxiliary Officers' Amendment to OPP Police Services Agreement By-law".
