HomeMy WebLinkAbout04 100 road closure triathalon e e e e THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KINC INE BY-LAW NO. 2004 - 100 A BY-LAW TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE STREETS TO FA ILlTATE THE 2004 KINCARDINE WOMEN'S TRIATHLO WHEREAS Section 42 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c 25, as amended, authorizes Councils of municipalities to close on a temporary basis any highway under the jurisdiction of the municipality for any purpose specified in the by law: NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of the Munici ality of Kincardine ENACTS as follows: 1. That portion of Huron Terrace, southerly from Harbour Str et to Albert Street; that portion of Penetangore Row from Albert Street to Bruce venue; that portion of Bruce Avenue from Penetangore Row to Goderich Street and that portion of Goderich Street from Bruce Avenue to Kin-Huron Road, be cl sed to all vehicular traffic on Saturday, July 1th, 2004 from 9:15 a.m. to 11 :15 .m. for the purpose of holding the 4th Annual Kincardine Women's Triathlon. I The Kincardine Women's Triathlon Committee shall erect each end of such highway or portion thereof, and where an alternative route eviates therefore, a barricade upon which an adequate warning device shall be e posed and in good working order continuously from sunset until sunrise and t such points there shall be erected a detour sign indicating the alternative rou e and containing a notice that the highway is closed to traffic. 2. 3. Every person who uses a highway or portion of a highway so closed to traffic does so at his or her own risk and The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine is not liable for any damage sustained by a perso using the highway or portion thereof so closed to traffic. I , I 4. Every person who without lawful authority uses a highway r portion thereof so closed to traffic while it is protected in accordance with thi paragraph, or who removes or defaces any barricade, device, detour sign or n tice placed thereon by lawful authority, is guilty of an offence and is subject to he penalties as set forth in the Provincial Offences Act and is also liable to Th Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine for any damage or injury occasion d by such wrongful use, removal or defacement. . . ./2 e e e e By- law No. 2004 - 100 Kincardine Women's Triathlon Road Closing By-Law, ~004 Page 2 of 2 ' 5. 6. This by law shall come into full force and effect upon its final J:1assage. This by-law may be cited as the "Kincardine Women's Triathlon Road Closing By-law, 2004".
