TANDEM REAR AXLE CONVENTIONAL CAB AND CH SSIS WITH COMBINATION CATCH BASIN CLEANER, SEWER LEANER AND JET RODDER . (Joe Johnson Equipment Inc.) I WHEREAS the Municipal Act, 2001, 5.0. 2001, c. 25 Section 1 (2) provides that lower-tier municipalities may pass by-laws within the sphere of jurisdiction of sewage treatment and collection of sanitary sewage; AND WHEREAS the Municipal Act, 2001, 5.0. 2001, c. 25 5 ions 8 and 9 (1) provides municipalities with powers of a natural person to ena Ie them to govern their affairs as they consider appropriate under this or any other Act; AND WHEREAS the Council for The Corporation of the Munici~ality of Kincardine deems it necessary to purchase a sewer vactor truck; ¡ AND WHEREAS the Council for The Corporation of the Munici ality of Kincardine deems it expedient to accept a tender to purchase a G.V.W. tandem rear axle conventional cab and chassis with a combination catch ba in cleaner, sewer cleaner and jet rodder; ¡ NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of t e Municipality of Kincardine ENACTS as follows: That the tender of Joe Johnson Equipment Inc. of $3 2,757.00 less an allowance of $15,000.00 for trade-in of Municipality's 984 sewer vactor truck and excluding all applicable taxes, be hereby acce ted. That the Mayor and CAO be hereby authorized to Si9~ on behalf of the Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Kinca ine any contracts and other documents required to authorize such purchas . G.V.W. TAJ.'IDEM REAR AXLE CONVENTIONAL CAB AND CHASSIS AJ.'ID COìVŒINA TION CATCHBASIN CLEMŒR, . SEWER CLEANER AJ.'iD JET RODDER GENfRAL The pþrpose of this specification is to describe the Municipality's requirements for a combination catchbasin cleaner, sewer cleaner and jet rodder. The unit may be a current standard production model with at least 15 units in service in Ontario or the Muniqipality will consider previous year production models or demo units. The supplier must supply the cab and chassi$ to efficiently mate to the unit tendered. The supplier will be responsible for performance testing and the certifitation of the completed total mounted unit. The completed unit must comply with all federal and provincial legish¢ion at time of delivery. Materials not defined here shall be of the best commercial quality and suitable for the purpose intended. It is ~ condition of!!ús tender that bidders submit descriptive literature and specifications of the equipment tender¡:d and also be prepared, when requested, to arrange for a demonstration within five days of such a request. ~e supplier must guarantee replacement or spare parts delivery within 24 hours of order. Availability of parts .t ~ guaranteed for a period of 10 years fÌ'om .date of delivery. Upon 1l0tification from the Municipality, the supplier must supply trained service personnel to advise and assist the Municipality's personnel in machine servicing and repair as well as operator training. ¡ The mitchine shall be of the single or dual engine design to be used for removing sand, stones, bottles, cans. grease. sludgejand other debris from sanitary sewer and/or storm drain lineS by the flushing action of high pressure water. The hip-pressure water pump shall be hydraulically driven with the chassis engine as the power source. I The n)achine shall include an air conveying vacuum system, powered by a truck chassis, to provide for sirnultJµleous removal of debris flushed to the manhole by the high pressure water (jet rodder) system, or for the remo~ of debris from sumps, catch basins, digesters, wet wells, bar screens, etc. The machine shall also include an enclosed and sealed body for storage of the collected debris. ]1 I I I , As it is the intent that this unit will have an anticipated life for ten years, the following general questions should be answered by the manufacturer. YRS. How njany units cUITently in service in Ontario? All bidders shall provide 24/7 warranty onsite F.O.B.
