THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE
BY-LAW NO. 74-16
A By-law to regulate and control open urning
and the prevention and spread of fire, within
the Village of Tiverton
WHEREAS Chapter 284, Section 354(1) subsections 29, 39, 41, 42,
and 44, R.S.O. 1970, permits Municipalities to pass by-laws
regulating open buring, guarding against fires, inspection of
premises, preventing spreading of fire and suc other regu-
lations for preventing fires and the spread of same, as the
Council deems necessary.
THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the ViI age of Tiverton
enacts as follows:

1. Definitions:
In this by-law
(a) Fire Chief means the Chief of the Tive ton Fire
department
(b) Inspector meass a person appointed by he Fire Chief
(c) Open Fire means a fore set in the open air, but does
not include a fire when used for cooki q
(d) Permih means the written permit issued by the Fire
chief or Inspector
2. Administration:
(a) The Fire Chief or his Inspector shall nforce this
By-Law
(b) The Fire Chief or his Inspector shall ssue all
permits for open fires.

No person shall
(a) Set out or maintain an open fire, with
limits of the Village of Tiverton, exc

(c) Set an open fire without first giving

4. Fire Chief's Authorization
The Fire Chief or his appointed Inspector s hereby
authorized to:
(a) Enßorce and/or carry into effect this y-law
Ib) Enter, at all reasonable time, upon an property in

by-¡aw are being obeyed
(c) To inspect and order if necessary, tha buildings and
yards be put in a safe condition to gu d against fire
or other dangerouà risk or accident.

Penalities
Any person who contravenes or fails to com
