For the purposes of this by-law,-- (8) "publio ball" shall mean any plaoe publio a6semb17 where members 01' the public gather together tor the purpose 01' any mee ng or entertainment, where an admission f is oharged, or where af'ter admission a barge is made or a fee collected, or where t publio hall is rented or leased by any pers n or organization for any such function, nd shall include cloak: rooms,· wash rooms, ki t hens and other service rooms used in oonnecti n there- with but shall not inolude a theatre, a sohool when used tor ødùoational purposes 0 y. a lodge when used tor lodge purposes 0 , a church or any building when used by reli- gious organization tor religious pu oses onlY. "entertainment" sha¡l mean any dance, exhi- bition, concert. show, variety prog m, motion piotŒre showing, public lunoheon or inner, *ame or sporting contest.
