INTRODUCTION
'The successful operation of a Police Force, re
size, depends upon a set of Rules and ReguJations,
strictly enforced. .
The Council is responsible for the policing an

DEÞINITIONS
In this By-law unless the context require anither tiefi'liition.
Council means the Munic:i.pè1 Council of Th Town of Kincardine
Force means the Police Force of the Munic pa1ity.
Member means a member of the Force.
Discipline Code meane regulations or disc p1ine made
pureuant to The Police Act of Ontario.
(e) Regulations means the Rules and Regulatio s contained
in this By-law.
(f) Sergeant or NCO means a Sergeant, Acting S rgeant or any¡
Officier when appointed by the Chief of P lice to act in
the capacity of Sergeant or acting Chief .1' Police. When
the Chief of Police or NCO is not on duty the senior
officier on duty will· assume responsibili y under this
definition of the NCO.
(g) Matron means a female emp:noyee appointed nt authorized by
council, for the purposes of this by-law.

and in observing and enforcing all laws and b -laWD.
He shall exercise such authority and supervis on over
departmental functions as the Chief of Police may
assign to him from time to time.

he shall write down the name, number and rank of such
member, the nature of the complaint and the n me and
address of the complainant and report such in ormation

The Sergeant shall send, under rt, to the
Provincial Court, before it opens, or while' is in session,
any prisoners in custody who are sober and ot erwise fit
to appear before the Provincial Judge; first ving turned

(a) Personal necessity;
(b) Official duty within the Station;
(c) Urgent police duty.

DUTIES
SENIOR CONSTABLES
1.
Senior Constables shall make themselves con

action in the case of burglary, accident, f're, serious
breach of the peace or other act or conditi n of his
beat or district requiring police attention, during
his tour of duty; or who shall neglect to take proper
measures to arrest any person guilty of suc offences.
Failure to discover, report and take approp iate action
in any such cases within a reasonable time a dafter
