THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Kincardine enacts as follows: PART 1 (a) That By-law Dumber 2257 of the Town of K ncardine be and the same is nereby repealed. . Any owner not procuring a license for hi dog on or before the fifteenth day of February in each yea shall have a ticket mailed to him by registered mail to his st known place of residence. Any person issued under the pro vis ons of this by-law for an alleged contravention may within 4 hours after the issuance thereof pay to the Clerk of the Mun"cipa1ity or such other person designated by the Council of t e Municipality to receive such payment the sum of $10.00 for th first offence in anyone thirty-day period and $15.00 for the s cond and subsequent offence or offences in the same thirt day period. This payment shall be received as the payment 0 a penalty in full satisfaction with respect to the alleged off nce and a receipt therefor shall be given to the person ma "ng payment. The owner shall also at this time purchase the re uired number of licenses. 3. A dog which is found running at large con rary to the provisions of this part may be seized and impound d in the dog pound; a dog so impounded shall be held for a per"od of not less than THREE (3) days, and if not claimed and eleased by , the owner thereof within such a period of time, y then be sold, destroyed or otherwise disposed of at the discret on of the poundkeeper; a dog so impounded shall not be'rele sed until the' owner thereof shall pay to the Clerk or other des gnated Officer, the sum of $5.00 for each day or part thereof aft r the first day during which the dog has been so impounded pl s a penalty of $10.00 in the case of a dog impounded for the fir t time or a penalty of $15.00 in the case of a dog impounded for the econd or subsequent tlme in the same calendar month. 4. (a) If the owner or guardian of an impoun ed dog can be identified said owner shall be notified by the Ca ine Control Officer, which notification shall be sufficiently given if sent by first class mail (prepaid) to the last known p ace of residence of said owner. If the dog is not claimed within tree (3) days and said dog is destroyed then the owner shall be r the cost of destruction.
