Kennedy . , , THE CORPORATION OF THE 'IO~ OF KINCARDINE BY -LAW NO. --1tlf- BEING A BY-LAW '10 DESIGNATE THE HOME OF 1AMES EARL KENNEDY at 689 Prin'ces Street of ARCHITECTURAL V~LUE. _ WHEREAS The Ontario Heritage Act, 1974 ij1thorizes the Council of a municipalit~ to enact By-laws to desi ate real property, in- cluding all the buildings and structûres thereon, to be in historic Or Architectural value Or inter st; and WHEREAS the ,Council of The Corporation 0 the Town of Kincardine has caused to be served upon the owner 0 the lands and premises known as the home of James Earle Kennedy at 689 Princes Street and upon the Ontario Herit¡¡,ge Foundation not ce of intention to SO designate théaforesaid real property an has caused such notice J of intention to be published in a newspa er having a general circulation in the municipality Once for I each of three consecutive weeks; and i , WHEREAS the reasons for designation are $et out in Schedule "B" hereto, ç¡.nd ¡ , WHEREAS n~ novice of objection to the sa~d proposed designation has been served upon the clerk of the MU~icipality; THEREFORE, The Council of The corporatiot of the Town of Kincardine enacts as follows: ..- I __ I. ' · · Schedul~: "B" By-Law 4197 · THE REAaONS FOR THE PROPOSED DESIGNATION: The Earl Kennedy residence is one of the mo~t authentic, well kept examples of the second empire style arfhitecture in the Town of Kincardine. I , , · The exterior is_ornate, wi th the decorated ¡' ables in the roof, the belvedere around the bay window and the front portico, and the ornate grill work on the top of the tow r. There are other decorations used in the ornate roof b ackets and under the eaves. _ _ I The iñterior still remains, very _original, W~th its fine detail of the high victorian period, with i s beautiful ceiling medations and intricately worked ma tlepieces. These spacious rooms are elegantly proportioned.
