HomeMy WebLinkAboutKIN 76 3169 Sick leave plan 3. , KINCARDINf , ! i I I A BY-LAW TO ESTABLISH A SICK LEAVE CRJDIT PLAN FOR ALL FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWN O~ KINCARDINE. i WHEREAS by paragraph 65 of Section 35f of the Municipal Act it is provided that By-laws may I be passed by the councils of all municipalities for establ~Shing a plan of sick leave gratuities for municipal employtes: THEREFORE the Council of the corporatton of the Town I There is hereby established for all f,ll time employees j of the Corporation of the Town of Kincardine ~ plan of sick leave gratuities, subject to the conditions htreinafter set forth: 1. Sick leave shall be accumulated at the raie of twenty-one days of sick leave for each year of servi~e commencing i i , A new employee shall not be eligible for ~hese said , credits until he or she has been emPIOyed bY the Corporation for at least nine months; provided that w~en such employee has been continuously so employed for suc~ nine month probationary period he or she shall then *e entitled to receive a credit retroactive to the date iin which his or her employment commenced. After three days absence because of sicknrss no leave with pay shall be allowed unless a certificatel by a duly qualified medical practitioner is forwardþd certifying to the inability of the employee to attend tþ his or her official business and if the sickness confinues, from time to time thereafter, as may be requir~d. , , 8. Employees who are discharged or voluntari~y leave their employment prior to Five years service sþall receive no credits or remuneration for unused accumu~ted sick leave , 9. An employee on completion of five years sþtisfactory service shall on termination of his or her employment, ! be entitled to an amount equal to his or þer remuneration for one-half of the number of days standi~g to his or her I credit for his or her accumulated unused fick leave but the amount so paid shall not exceed ore-half a years earnings paid at the rate received ~y him or her immediately prior to termination of emPlorment. 10. A monthly report of any sick leave will ~e filed in the Treasurers Office by all departments headls by the 10th day of the following month. . . 11.
